FAQ

What does Streetpage consist in?

Streetpage is a web interface meant to improve relationships between the neighbours of a same street. Streetpage has created for each street a secured website. Only the neighbours of this street can access the website with a login. The neighbours of the street use Streetpage to meet each other, to get in touch and to exchange information or services they need.

About us

We are two young freelance businessmen and we have created Streetpage because we are more than ever convinced that values such as closeness, friendship and mutual assistance can make everybody’s life easier and nice. The whereabouts of Streetpage are to be found in the conditions of use.

What for?

Thanks to Streetpage you can: (i) Share information and chat with your neighbours via the public place  (« Agora ») of your street; (ii) Create events for your neighbours or your neighbourhood; (iii) Create useful lists for the neighbours; (iv) Directly get in touch with your registered neighbours through the internal email of Streetpage; And much more… In practical terms, the opportunities to make your daily life easier are countless: grouping purchases of bio products, organisation of street parties, lending of tools, services between neighbours, baby-sitters, giving access to your home to a worker, sharing good places to go in the neighbourhood, car-sharing…

How to register?

It is very easy: on the homepage www.streetpage.com, you fill in the register form by mentioning your address (domicile). Streetpage will identify your street in the whole database of streets and will suggest you to finish by indicating your name and a password. Then, you will be registered within your street! What remains to be done is to meet your neighbours.

What is a street segment?

The street segment is the part of the street between two crossroads. When the street is split by another one, (even on one side only), the street segment comes to an end. Then the street segment starts again on the other side of the crossroad up to the next one. Being a closeness network, Streetpage has created a secured website for each segment. This means that for many streets (mainly very long ones), there will be several Streetpage sites for one single street. According to the number where you live, you belong to one or another street segment. Only the inhabitants of your segment will be part of your Streetpage website. You can only send messages to the neighbours of your segment, i.e. to your closer neighbours.

How to recognise the segment? Why the A segment in my street is not next to the B segment?

Each segment of a street is linked to a letter to differentiate all the segments of one single street (e.g.: Washington street – segment A, Washington street – segment B…). The allocation of the letters is based on the chronology of registration and not on a geographical distribution of the segments of one single street. This means that the first segment in which a person registers receives the A letter; when someone else registers in another segment of the street, this segment receives letter B even if this segment is not next to the A segment, etc.

Why does Streetpage divide the streets into segments?

Streetpage divides the streets into segments in order to split streets, which are too long. Indeed, in streets, which are too long or with hundreds of people (even more) would not allow the improvement of relationships between close neighbours.

Who can access/see the exchange of information within your street?

Only the neighbours of the segment of your street will be able to access your profile as well as the information exchanged with your neighbours on the Streetpage website of the segment of your street. Streetpage is a secured interface: you can communicate safely within your street (e.g: the neighbours of the « Washington street – segment A » have no access to the information of «American street – segment B »).

Why is my address compulsory?

The principle of Streetpage is to create real communities of neighbours. It is therefore impossible to put you in contact with your neighbours without your physical address. And thanks to your email address you will be informed of the activities of your street. Your email address will never be disclosed to your neighbours.

It is a free website?

Yes, it is absolutely free.

If I live in a building instead of a house, may I register?

No problem. You may register on Streetpage independently of the kind of living you are in. In cases of buildings divided into apartments, each apartment of the building will be registered to the same address but with a new Streetpage account according to each inhabitant.

I am on Streetpage, can my partner also join in?

Yes, of course, each of you will have his own Streetpage account and personal email.

Is Streetpage secure?

Yes, on the secured website of your street, only the closest neighbours (the ones belonging to the same street segment as yours) can communicate with you in complete confidence and friendly.

I already know my neighbours, why Streetpage could be useful?

Streetpage is an ideal way of communication for neighbours who already know each other. The interface is an easy and user-friendly way of communication with your neighbours whenever you want and to organise or exchange services within your street.

I do not know my neighbours may I register on Streetpage?

Streetpage is a good virtual tool to get in touch progressively with your neighbours in the real life. No need to go and ring their doorbell, you can see from home who lives next door and, if necessary, post some messages. This might give you the impulse of meeting your neighbours in the real life. Come on and join the website of your street by registering and discover the wealth of your street through its « Agora », the central point of your street!
